Cutline lets you edit by typing. You say what you want in the Claude desktop app. Cutline makes the edit in the Premiere Pro or After Effects project you have open, then tells you what changed.
What you need
- A Mac. Windows is coming soon.
- Premiere Pro, After Effects, or both, in the current versions from Creative Cloud.
- The Claude desktop app, signed in to your Claude account. The AI runs on your own account, so a paid Claude plan is best.
- Cutline.mcpb, from your Gumroad receipt email or your Gumroad library.
- Your licence key, from your Gumroad receipt. Plans start with a 7-day free trial, and the key arrives straight away.
Install
- Download Cutline.mcpb from your Gumroad receipt or library.
- Double-click it. It adds Cutline to the Claude desktop app and installs the panel.
- Quit Premiere Pro or After Effects if it's open, then open it again.
- Choose Window > Extensions > Cutline.
- Dock the panel somewhere out of the way and keep it open while you work.
When Cutline can work in that app, the light next to the name at the top of the panel turns green. Hover over it and it says Ready.
Your first three requests
Open a sequence in Premiere Pro, then type these into Claude one at a time.
What have I got selected?Cutline reads your timeline and tells you. It's a quick check that it's looking at the right sequence.Add a red marker at the playhead called "check audio"A small, safe change. The marker appears on your timeline.Cut out 1:20 to 1:45 and close the gapA real edit. Cutline reports the sequence length before and after, and anything that might now be out of sync.
The first time Cutline uses a tool, Claude may ask for your permission. Allow it.
Undo
Don't like a change? Say "undo that" in Claude, or click Undo last change at the bottom of the panel. Either one takes back Cutline's whole last change.
