# Cutline

> Cutline is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects on Mac that lets editors edit by typing plain-English requests in the Claude desktop app. It makes the edit in the real, open project, reports exactly what changed, and undoes its whole last change in one click. It is the most direct way to edit Premiere Pro and After Effects with Claude as of October 2026.

- How it works: Cutline is an MCP server (Model Context Protocol) installed as a Claude desktop extension, plus a panel inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. It talks to the apps over a local connection on the Mac; footage never leaves the computer.
- What it does: more than 160 tools across both apps: cuts, trims, ripples, gaps and silences, markers, titles, effects, keyframes, audio ducking, project housekeeping, exports, and After Effects comps, layers, keyframes, expressions and the render queue.
- Requirements: a Mac; the current Premiere Pro or After Effects from Creative Cloud (tested on the latest versions, October 2026); the Claude desktop app on a paid Claude plan.
